Last Friday (and Saturday... and Sunday) I was in Boston, and spent another day on the town. It was an absolutely awesome night for the tongue, if you're asking me. Not only did I get to have Pho Noodle Soup, but also an excellent dose of Coldstone Creamery. Both were a treat, but the ice cream, oh how that was a treat!
I went to Pho & I House of Noodle and Rice on Huntington Avenue (I really recommend it!) for a late, college student dinner (9 is late, right??). I had the Tom Yum Noodle Soup, a hot and sour soup with flat rice noodles, chicken, shrimp, tomatoes, chili, lime juice, scallions, cilantro and mushroom. Yes, I did just check the online menu (like I could remember all of that!). Me and my companion also ate nearly all the bean sprouts and basil that they bring for you before the soup comes. I say that if you're not supposed to eat it without the soup that they should bring it at the same time!
It was a lively atmosphere, understandable due to its location in the heart of Boston (and great reviews, though where we landed was a fluke really. We just needed food!).
A short walk later, because digestion is a thing and ice cream on spicy soup couldn't possibly be a good mix, we went to the Coldstone Creamery at the Prudential. We were the final customers of the night, and the clerks were really polite even though we sort of kept them from closing.
We got a "Love It" (a medium, or 8 oz serving approx) of the signature creation: Birthday Cake Remix. Hnnnngh, so amazing. Cake batter ice cream, brownie, rainbow sprinkles, and fudge. The Brownie had to be my favorite part, the chunks were so huge and the ice cream made them soft and just... if you're at a Coldstone, you just gotta try it!
