Jel-O!

When jel-O! first came onto the food scene, it was the thing to bring to every cocktail party, it was extravagant. People started to make jel-O! in different designs like towers and buildings.

Then, as jel-O! digressed from being the perfect food to bring to parties, to what you serve someone after they have had their wisdom teeth removed, or what you give to little kids for dessert. Somehow something that was so posh became the equivalent of pizza.
There is a great deal of stigma around Jel-O! now because it is a product made of gelatin. The stigma revolves around the idea of consuming horse hooves and what that means in terms animal rights and dietary concerns. This food has become an animal rights affair, and now the question becomes, what does that mean in terms of all foods? Are their political links to all foods? Is that our food culture?
